African Bikers World

"African Bikers World" was born out of a need to bring together bikers and biker friendly business and to showcase anything relevant to this industry in an interesting and informative fashion, serving as a conduit to link bikers, biker friendly businesses as well as the many biking events and areas of interest occurring in the world of biking in Africa.

The idea of two friends Anwa aka "Bollie" and Tony aka "Chop-Stix" — they combined their skills in information technology and publishing to create African Bikers World.

Bollie has been involved in online media for many years and the business "The Right Media Group" is a certified Google Partner, which enables them to run advertising campaigns on behalf of clients on Google, as well as hosting and designing websites. As a professional graphic artist, Bollie became involved in biking by producing a stunning range of resin-domed motorcycle accessories such as tank pads, side pads, key rings and various other motorcycle products.

Chop-Stix, a veteran biker from the sixties and a firm believer in old school biking values and the biking brotherhood, with a passion for marketing, has been involved in producing the "South African Motor Cycle Pocket Diary Directory" publication, distributed at no charge since 2004 at the annual Toy Run in the Western Cape, and which has enjoyed wide appeal amongst Western Cape bikers and biker friendly businesses, many of whom have collected all of these pocket publications from inception.

Both Anwa and Tony felt it was practical to have both a pocket publication for bikers which can physically be carried in a biker's pocket wherever they might travel, as well as a website which can be accessed via a portable smart phone or computer and which can be updated and improved on an ongoing basis.

However, they felt strongly that motorcyclists, motor cycle suppliers, motor cycle friendly businesses, event organisers, customisers, motor cycle clubs, motor cycle organizations and anyone with an interest in motor cycling should have an interesting forum which would not just be informational, but where video clips, digital photographs and sponsored competitions — such as "The Best Custom Build" — could be showcased, and where biking personalities and clubs can be introduced to the biking community and all who have an interest in biking.

Both Anwa and Chop-Stix believe that as bikers are fast becoming itinerant travelers throughout Africa, they want to see visual content wherever possible — of places to visit, accommodation establishments, places to relax and have a meal, motorcycle products that are available, biking events, function venues, bike dealerships, etc.

This site is purely informational and for the enjoyment of all who have any possible interest in the world of biking. We hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do — and whether your interests are in the exciting world of road biking, on/off-road biking, or providing services or products that service this bikers world, that you will both enjoy this site and have as much fun as we will in making it work for all.
